The analysis of the vote shows that the majority of the MEPs who voted against the ratification of the EU-Ukraine agreement are coming from the far right (46 MEPs), (far-)left (35 MEPs) and eurosceptic (30) political parties. This anti-European "National-Bolshevik" alliance manifested itself, in particular, during the vote on the European Parliament resolution "On Russian pressure on Eastern Partnership countries and in particular destabilisation of eastern Ukraine" that recognised "Russia’s acts of aggression as a grave violation of international law and its own international obligations".
As I predicted in April this year, the "National-Bolshevik" alliance has grown stronger in the newly elected European Parliament. In April, only 49 MEPs voted against the resolution "On Russian pressure", but now 127 MEPs voted against the EU-Ukraine agreement.

Each party has its own agenda. I do not think it is reasonable to group these parties together based on a single issue...
ReplyDeleteAlso, you should take into consideration the damage (to the public or international image of Euromaydan) which caused by Ukrainian nazis of svoboda, right sector , clowns like Lyashko and other galician fascists and their 'intellectual' promoters (such as Kuzio etc )
It is you that should worry why around 30% of Eur. parliament members choose not to support this agreement (by choosing not to vote...you are making a political statement...i hope we agree on that)
ps. you can't really mean it ....labeling Glezos as national-bolshevik...and make him look like a fascist ...right? at least if you want to keep some credibility...
You are making this mistake because you fail to understand that some of these people are against EU ...they would not vote for such an agreement for any other country(not Ukraine in particular)...just study the history of all these agreements...
The term "National Bolshevik" is in quotation marks. It refers to the similar positions that were taken by the far right and the (far) left.
ReplyDeleteThe extreme right and extreme left in Europe both want to destroy EU which plays into Putin's hand so he supports them, especially the extreme right which is much closer to his own ideology. They will vote as a block whenever it suits them ie weakens the EU as a unit.
ReplyDeleteAs to the "Nazis" on Maidan, God bless 'em. they had the guts to defend the demonstrators against Yanukovych's Berkuts at the risk of their own lives. One has to keep in mind that Russia, from Soviet times onwards called all countries which disagreed with them Nazis. At the moment Russia has far more extreme right groups than the rest of Europe.
